Htoon Htoon Oo
Gospel for Asia"I was born into a Buddhist family in Myanmar. I was taught to do good in order to get a good life after my death. But deep within my heart, I longed to know the truth.
I heard about Jesus as it was preached often in our village by some missionaries. But my human reasoning never allowed me to perceive the truth that Jesus is sinless.
One day, I was privileged to attend a public Gospel meeting. While a servant of God was preaching, I felt very different within. The Lord spoke to my heart and convicted me of my need to receive Jesus as my Savior. Soon I welcomed Jesus to be my Lord and Master.
My perception that I had earlier about my Savior was changed. I became an active member in a church and I grew in the Lord.
I began to share the love of Christ with the people in my village. God confirmed his call upon me for full-time ministry. I then joined with GFA to proclaim the good news effectively among the lost.
Presently, I serve the Lord as an evangelist in Myanmar, where the majority of the people are Buddhists. Besides church-planting work, I share the love of God among the lost through distributing tracts, visiting houses, witnessing personally and holding home prayer fellowships. I also care for the poor and needy.
Please pray for me, that I would continue to serve God effectively."
Sashi Mangrati
Gospel for Asia"I was born into a Hindu family in India. We worshipped many idols and followed all the traditions of Hinduism. Though we were very pious, we suffered from many sicknesses. We did rituals to eradicate the sicknesses, but they were of no use. Hence we had no peace.
My father called some believers to our home and pleaded with them to do something for our peace. They shared with us about Jesus Christ, the Prince of peace. It was the first time I heard about a God so loving. And when they prayed, all at home experienced the Lord's touch. I thus turned to the Lord and started to walk according to His Word. Later I was baptized in water.
The joy of salvation I experienced in my life motivated me to share the Good News. And as opportunities came, I witnessed to many people who were ignorant of the Lord. As I yielded my life to the will of God, He called me for ministry. Doors were opened for me by God's grace, and I joined a Bible school to have a deep knowledge of the living Word.
I am working as a Bible Woman for the extension of the eternal kingdom. To reach out to the Hindus of West Bengal, India, I am involved in Gospel literature evangelism, house visitation, home prayer fellowships and women's ministry.
Please pray for me that I may fulfill God's plan to expand his kingdom."
