How Can I Pray?

  • Pray for unity in the body.

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. Ephesians 4:15-16 ESV

  • Pray for faithfulness to God and his word.

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. 1 Thess. 2:13 (ESV)

  • Pray for our pastors as they shepherd God's people.

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. Acts 20:28 (ESV)

  • Pray for opportunities to share the gospel with unbelievers.

Also, pray for the ministries and missionaries we support. Have you been born again?

  • Pray for our leaders on the local, state, and national level that they would have wisdom and humility to lead in accordance with godly truth and justice.

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Romans 13:1 (ESV)

  • Praise God for who he is and what he has done.

“Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? Exodus 15:11 (ESV)

  • Confess and repent of your sins.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (ESV)

Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. Matthew 3:8 (ESV)

"I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance." Luke 5:32 (ESV)

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:7 (ESV)
