What is Trust and Obey?
In Summer 2010, Trust and Obey began as a weekdaily email by Pastor Chad Davis as a response to the sermon series through Genesis. Each entry contains two brief passages of Scripture and a devotional thought about each: the first Scripture contains a particular promise or declaration that should serve as an encouragement as we trust it as a true word from our Father; the second Scripture contains a particular instruction or command that should serve to spur us on to obedience.
The reason for this is because our proper response to the truths of Scripture and the promises of God is to trust and obey. That is what Abraham did, and that is what we should do. Each entry provides a very particular piece of Scripture that can be trusted and a particular piece of Scripture that can be obeyed everyday, with the goal of exhorting God's people to walk in holiness, faithfulness, and obedience. Hebrews 3:13 says, "...exhort one another every day, as long as it is called 'today,' that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."
